Stav Yeini

Choreographer, sound designer and Reiki Master practitioner based in Brussels.
Graduated from P.A.R.T.S (BE) in June 2010.

Her body of work in the last few years consists of developing somatic sound works based on the therapeutic aspects of sound frequencies, the physicality of sound, and the invisible aspects of movement. Shifting from the performative to the visceral, internal and (often) invisible movements that manifest through senses and sensations.
Creating living environments for deep listening as a social and political technologies to cultivate presence through physicality and sonic awareness. Her work is closely related to 'education of the future' for a world and society where the sensuous and poetic mode of being is at the center of all (inter)action. It emphasises sensuous knowledge production arising from a post-economic, ecological consciousness. 

2019 - 2020
Created the interdisciplinary piece The Senders based on her preparatory research.

in close collaboration with Nimrod Astrahan, Mikko Hyvoonen, Milena Bonilla, Ayin De Sela, Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, Christina Vantzou and Ezra Firearms.

Performance Installation at Zsenne Art Lab in Brussels (BE), Performance installation at Ihmmerzentrum, Hannover (DE) curated by Robin Höning as a part of a residency at PLATZproject Hannover, supported by the City of Hannover Culture Bureau, Commission by Sara Gianini in the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven (NL)

2015 - 2016
Established a collaboration with artist and composer Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe (New York) supported by workspacebrussels (BE)
Presentation: Zsenne Art Lab, Brussels (BE)

Created and performed the piece Skypesamba in collaboration with Rosie Sommers and Ezra Fieremans. Supported by and shown at: KASK, Campo Victoria Gent and Zsenne Art Lab (BE)

Research Living software with the support of: workspacebrussels (BE), Zsenne Art Lab (BE), STUK (BE). The process was presented in Working title festival in December 2015 in Beursschouwburg, Brussels (BE)

2012 - 2014
Guest member in collective 'Busy Rocks' and later co-founder of the collective 'Inter Local Atelier'. The work was supported by and took place in: Brussels (BE) workspacebrussels, Helsinki (FI) Zodiak, Lisbon (PT) Alkantaraand, Stockholm (SE) Konstnarsnamden.

Created As it fell in collaboration with Marisa Cabal, Yishai Gassenbauer (video) and Stijn Demeulenaere (sound design). The piece premiered in Beursschowuburge Brussels (BE) in Spring 2012, toured during 2013 in: Budapest (HU), Isonzo (IT), London (GB), Ljubljana (SI), and Zurich (DE). Winning of the Aerowaves prize in 2013. 

In 2013 also took part in 'Phenomena', choreography by GeorgiaVardarou, premiered at STUK (BE), toured in: Vienna (AT) Impulstanz, Athens (GR) Onassis Cultural Centre and Stockholm (SE) MDT.
